Rusty Shelton first spoke at Harvard on the changing world of PR and marketing at the age of 23. He is the Founder & Chairman of Zilker Media, publisher of ForbesBooks and co-author (alongside Adam Witty) of Authority Marketing: How to Leverage 7 Pillars of Thought Leadership to Make Competition Irrelevant (ForbesBooks, 2018) and co-author (alongside Barbara Cave Henricks) of Mastering the New Media Landscape: Embrace the Micromedia Mindset (Berrett-Koehler, 2016). Prior to founding Zilker Media, he built and sold two businesses before the age of 35.

An active keynote speaker, Rusty’s commentary on the changing world of PR and marketing has been featured in Forbes, Inc. Magazine, Wharton, Huff Post and many other top media outlets.

He is a native Austinite and is active in the local community. His agency, Zilker Media, backs up its “good vibes” value by donating multiple campaigns each year to local non-profits. He also is a leader at The Church @ Highland Park, where he grew up, and enjoys mentoring start-up entrepreneurs.

A member of Entrepreneurs’ Organization (EO), he lives with his wife and three kids in Lake Travis, where he enjoys coaching his kids’ sports teams and catching as many fish as he can.
