Since 1998, the Young Women’s Alliance and the Young Men’s Business League have partnered annually to host the Austin Under 40 Awards—a black-tie gala honoring and celebrating Austin’s emerging professionals and their mentors who are making an impact in our community. These individuals are recognized in 16 categories, including Austinite of the Year.
All proceeds raised from the gala go directly to support the Young Women’s Alliance Foundation and the Austin Sunshine Camps.

Now in its twenty-third year, Austin Under 40’s profile has risen year over year with sold-out events for the past eight consecutive years. Through strategic and strong local media partnerships, sponsors are promoted across television and radio audiences as well as various print and online publications. Additionally, superior sponsorship recognition is achieved throughout the event with a captive audience of more than 800 guests. There are also sponsorship opportunities at various Austin Under 40-related events around Austin before and after the awards show.

Each year, the caliber of award honorees, community support, engagement with the business community and the event itself surpass expectations and make history.

“I am genuinely so proud to have won the Austin Under 40 Award. This city is so filled with incredible people, doing incredible work and still can’t believe I was honored among them. I have worked diligently in my causes and it feels good to be recognized for that even if it was truly unexpected.”

“When I reflect upon the caliber of talented men and women that AU40 has recognized since its inception, I am still in disbelief and humbled to have been acknowledged. So many past honorees are individuals that I look up to and whose leadership I try to emulate. It is inspiring knowing that our community is filled with many wonderful people who are ensuring our community prospers equitably for our future generations.”

“It was such a thrilling moment. I love Austin, I love running a business and being a boss woman, and I LOVE giving back to the community, so to be recognized for all these pieces of me was amazing. And it all motivates me to keep going and doing more!”

“I was honored to even be nominated within a group of such impactful, up-and-coming Austinites, so I am thrilled, grateful, humbled…and still, quite frankly, shocked! I’m incredibly thankful to Environmental Defense Fund for the opportunity to work with some of the smartest, most dedicated and passionate people, who I certainly share this award with in spirit. Austin is one of the greatest cities in the world and winning this award shows leaders here value the importance of working on tough, but important, issues like climate change.”
