Rick R. Flores is a criminal defense lawyer and partner at one of Austin’s oldest law firms– Minton, Bassett, Flores & Carsey, P.C.– where he represents people accused of criminal offenses. Before private practice, Rick was a prosecutor at the Travis County Attorney’s Office where he represented the State of Texas and the citizens of Austin. He is the 2020 Chair of the Austin Bar Association Criminal Law section.
Rick has been lead counsel in over 100 trials, winning “Not Guilty” verdicts on 10 of his last 12 jury trials.
Outside of the courtroom, Rick mentors students of all ages, from elementary school to law school– encouraging students to enter the legal profession where they can enact change and make a difference in the community.
Rick is married to Kelley Flores, an attorney at Kelly Hart & Hallman. They have two children, Finley and Jim.
