Lauren is the managing partner of Ruffner Schoenbaum PLLC and head of the firm’s corporate and estate planning teams. She is passionate about supporting local businesses by helping to minimize their exposure to legal disputes and uncertainty. She is a frequent speaker on legal strategy, business growth and diversity.
She co-owned her first business while still in college and has been hooked ever since. Lauren launched her law firm in 2014 and later merged with Eleanor Ruffner to form Ruffner Schoenbaum PLLC which is now a full service firm for local businesses with 7 attorneys celebrating its third anniversary on September 1st (culminating in the announcement of the addition of the firm’s 4th partner).
Lauren is a founding board member and past president of the Mother Attorney Mentor Association of Austin, or MAMAs, a 501(c)(3) dedicated to the support and success of working mom attorneys, which has nearly 900 members in Central Texas. She is also on the metro board of the YMCA where she channels her energy to provide safe and enriching physical activity for all Central Texans. She’s also a long time volunteer and supporter of People Fund, the Austin Diaper Bank and her kids’ schools.
Lauren has received awards and recognition from Austin Women Magazine (Rising Star finalist), Austin Magazine’s Top Attorney List, People Fund’s Volunteer of the Year, TCWLA for the Advancement of Women’s Interest in the Law, Texas Rising Stars (Thompson Reuters), and Austin Under 40.
