2018 & 2019 Co-Chairs Note

Dear Austin Community,

On behalf of the Young Women’s Alliance and the Young Men’s Business League, we’re so proud to have had an opportunity to present the 20th Annual Austin Under 40 Awards. On May 19th, we honored 80 extraordinary individuals across 16 different industry categories for their professional and philanthropic contributions to our city. This hard working group of Finalists, and the Finalists that came before them, are been paramount to the success of Austin over the last twenty years. Among this remarkable group, we will selected 16 winner’s, alongside our first woman Austinite of the Year since 2012.

Beyond recognizing young professionals, our event served a greater purpose with proceeds benefiting the Young Women’s Alliance  Foundation (YWAF) and the Austin Sunshine Camps (ASC). YWAF supports young ladies in Central Texas by awarding higher education scholarships, offering professional development courses, yearlong consultations with professional mentors, and providing grants to the Girl’s Empowerment Network. ASC engages and empowers Austin’s youth through STEM education and outdoor experiences. All of ASCs programs, from the week-long summer camp to Sunshine Afterschool, are provided free-of-charge to the families of Austin’s high-potential, economically disadvantaged youth.  With your help on May 19th, we raised over $280,000 that will go towards facilitating the growth, mentorship, and continuing education of the next generation of Austin leaders.

May 19th came upon us after a yearlong culmination of hard work by over 30 volunteers,100 judges, 3 judging rounds, and generous donations from each of our sponsors. We give special thanks to all that have contributed their time and resources to make our event possible. Until next time, let us celebrate Austin’s best and brightest young professionals, setting the gold standard for all of us.

Thank you for your support,
